MW Integrated with Cart66 – FINALLY!

It has definitely been a long time coming and an integration that has been requested by so many Australian merchants. Cart66 is an eCommerce plugin for the popular blogging software wordpress that enables merchants to “sell electronics, digital downloads, videos, music, web hosting, legal services, collect membership fees, and more.” – Cart66

Over the past few months we have had an overwhelming number of requests to have the Merchant Warrior Payment Gateway integrated with the Cart66 plugin. The lack of support for an Australian payment processing option made the extremely flexible and popular Cart66 plugin unusable for many Australian merchants.

We feel extremely lucky to have been contacted by Dante Chichizola @dchichizola a senior web developer from Macintype Design who registered his interest in integrating the Merchant Warrior Payment Gateway into the Cart66 plugin.

Thanks to the efforts of Dante an Australian payment option finally exists for the Cart66 plugin! The plugin can be found at the Merchant Warrior Developer Zone or by clicking here.

We will be contacting the great team at Cart66 to have the plugin available with the professional version of the plugin. We understand they are extremely busy but do hope we manage to get this merged into their development cycle in time for their next release.

CS-Cart v2.2.1 Release

We are happy to announce that the relase of CS-Cart v2.2.1 has support for the Merchant Warrior Payment Gateway.

Thanks to the efforts of Sam Georges from Frag Networks the Merchant Warrior payment gateway is now supported in what is known as one of the most flexible shopping carts available – LemonStand.

The Merchant Warrior payment module is available to developers free of charge from the LemonStand market place which is a new addition to the LemonStand website that allows developers to contribute addons which can enable additional functionality to the base LemonStand shopping cart.

Each year we have an onsite audit completed by our registered QSA (Securus Global) in order to ensure that all components of our payment platform including our business processes are PCI DSS compliant.

Tier 1 PCI DSS v2.0 – Certified!

In August 2010 the PCI SSC announced that the PCI DSS v2.0 would be published in October of 2010. A list of changes that have been made between PCI DSS v1.2 and PCI DSS v2.0 can be found here.

Thanks to the efforts of all staff we have been certified by Securus Global as a Tier 1 PCI DSS v2.0 payment gateway.

Merchants that take advantage of the Merchant Warrior payment platform can rest assured that all products have been thoroughly assessed and will continue to maintain the highest level of compliance.

The introduction of our Token Payments solution (including Tokenized Batch Payments), Transparent Redirect and Hosted Payments has aided a number of organizations in maintaining the highest level of compliance and reducing the costs that are associated with the PCI DSS.

Merchant Warrior - Batch Payments

What are Batch Payments?

Merchant Warrior’s Batch Payments offers merchants a simple way to process a large number of offline or periodic transactions. If your business is processing large volumes of subscriptions, membership fees or installment fees then you will already be using a Batch Payments solution or you should be.

Batch Payments are processed by a merchant compiling a file which contains a list of the transactions which need to be processed for a specific period. This file is then submitted to a Payment Gateway for processing. A solution such as Merchant Warrior’s Batch Payments is a much more efficient method of processing transactions when you are dealing with a high volume of transactions.

Why Merchant Warrior Batch Payments?

Merchant Warrior offers its merchants two methods of processing Batch Payments:

  • Manual upload via the Merchant Warrior administration panel
  • Merchant Warrior’s advanced Direct API platform

Both of these batch processing methods support .csv (comma separated value), .xls (microsoft excel 94-2004) and .xlsx (microsoft excel 2007) file formats.

In the past Batch Payments often meant that merchants were dealing with complex file formats, slow transmission methods and the requirement to poll a service to identify whether the batch file had been processed or not. Have no fear – we will not put you through that pain again.

Merchant Warrior’s Batch Payments enables merchants to work with simple file formats which can be integrated into any periodic billing system whether it be for a small business or corporate.

Merchants have the ability to request and receive automatic notifications when a batch file has completed processing and have the resulting batch file compressed (if required). Reports can be emailed upon batch processing completion, are archived indefinitely and can be easily accessed via the Merchant Warrior administration panel or Direct API.

Batch Payments & PCI DSS?

Yes, we do our math. Our team works hard to ensure that we supply our merchants with the best solutions in the industry.

The Merchant Warrior Batch Payments solution supports our extremely popular Token Payments service. Rather than be required to store your customer’s credit card information locally you can simply submit a batch file to the Merchant Warrior Direct API or merchant administration panel filled with Tokens (see Merchant Warrior Token Payments for more information).

MW Auth & Capture

Authorization & Capture support

The Merchant Warrior Payment Gateway now supports Authorization and Capture for merchants through both the Merchant Administration Panel and API. A full explanation of exactly how Authorization and Capture operates and why certain merchants require it can be found at the Authorization & Capture article at Australia’s Payments Gateway Resource.

We have worked closely with our merchants to implement Authorization & Capture capabilities the right way. The Authorization & Capture feature is available through both the Merchant Warrior Direct API and Transparent Redirect.

Who needs Authorization and Capture support?

There are specific business models that will require the ability to have control over when they issue a credit card Authorization and credit card Capture. A simple example of this would be a computer repair company that sent out employees to fix computer problems. Assuming they have a service cost of $50 this is how the process would look:

  • The Customer books computer repair specialist for $50
  • The Computer repair company issues a credit card Authorization for $50 to the customer’s credit card
  • The credit card Authorization is successful and therefore the Computer repair company knows that the Customer has the funds
  • A computer repair specialist is sent to the Customer’s house on the booking date which happens to be three days later
  • The computer repair specialists fixes the customer’s issue and notifies head office that the job has been completed
  • The computer repair company issues a credit card Capture for $50 from the customer’s credit card
  • The $50 is then transferred from the customer’s account to the computer repair company’s settlement account

This is a simple scenario in which the merchant can benefit from having control over when they issue a credit card Authorization and credit card Capture.
